What is cosmic energy?

Divine Grace is this Cosmic Energy.

It can be so called as it belongs to everyone - to people

of all religions - why it belongs to even non-believers. Just as human blood

is red for all irrespective of caste, creed, nationality or

religion, so also this cosmic energy belongs to everyone.

So also the one Almighty is the same. Blood is red

everywhere, it does not become golden (yellowish) in

America. If it turns yellow, that is a symptom of jaundice.

Blood is red at all times and everywhere. So also it is with

God. We may worship the Supreme Power in different

forms. That’s why it is better to call it the Divine Grace

as it becomes acceptable and recognizable to all.

Home management techniques using 5S and Six Sigma

When I underwent the ISO lead auditor course, the tutor talked about 5S,six Sigma and other similar
techniques which one should earn to be a successful auditor. Their organizations were also
canvassing for Six Sigma blackbelt courses.I did not have money to invest in all these courses and so I thought it would be a good idea to browse the internet and check how it would be useful to me, without spending anything.

5S : Sort, set in order, shine, standardize and sustain
5S denotes 5 disciplines for maintaining a workplace.
These forms the basis for continuous improvement (called Kaizen in Japanese) of a company. It is also one of the strategy in “Lean manufacturing” (waste removing) concept. I feel we should apply this 5S for our home management first.

1. Sort: Throw away unwanted and unused items from the house. Remove the clutter. This is also called ‘Feng-Shui’. All the stagnant energies will removed from one's house if we follow the above.

2. Set in order: Arrange every item and keep it in their proper place so that they are not scattered around in the house.

3. Shine: Clean the area after the work is over, especially in the kitchen so that it shines and give a good feeling.

4. Standardize:
Arrange and group the things in shelves so that it is easy to locate when required (especially books, tools, etc.) and label them as required.

5. Sustain: This is not a one-day job as we do on the Ayudha pooja day. Remove everything, dust, clean and put in place. It should become a habit and done on a daily basis to achieve a harmonious lifestyle. We should try it everyday to improve upon the above on a continuous basis and adapt ourself to the modified environment. Hence, continual improvement should become a part and parcel of our daily life management system. Only then would we sense good energy flow in our house, which would then lead to a happier and more successful family life.

Good, bad and ugly:

The more we use 5S at home, the more simpler, life becomes and the more things get better and better, day after day. With 5S, we can create a cleaner and safer home environment and hence there would be less tension, confusion and mental stress, thus leading to happiness everywhere. The bad and ugly would be removed and only the good would remain. Share your output with your family members; help others too to follow your example.

SWOT personal life analysis

We may have applied SWOT many times for our

organization. But have we done the same when our life

is concerned? If one wants to succeed in life, one must

use their strong points and talents to the fullest extent.

At the same time, one should also be aware of one's

weaknesses. “Strike the opportunities that comes in the

way and thrash away the threats that creep in”. This is

the formula for success.

SWOT Analysis:

SWOT Analysis can come handy for us to achieve

our mission, vision and goal.

SWOT – Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities,

Threats.

Y o u should view y o u r s e l f t h r o u g h the SWOT
framework and develop your skills likewise
In order t o advance in your life and career.

Strengths:

1) What are your achievements, abilities, resources and

communication skills?

2) In what way are you better than others?

Weaknesses:

What are the negative points in your habits, speaking

abilities, attitudes, confi dence levels, fear and nervousness

when compared to others?

Opportunities:

What are the opportunities that come up in your

way, like technological development, good contacts,

company’s growth, competitor's weakness, requirement

from competitor's company, etc.?

Threats:

Are there threats from colleagues, neighbours,

higher expectations on the job, new technology, economic

climate, etc.?

Analyze:

Analyze the situation in the right perspective without

any bias by promoting the strengths, minimizing the

weaknesses and threats and exploiting the opportunities.

Thus, you can achieve success in your business, profession and life.

The kaizen technique for success

Introduction:
K a i z e n  m e a n s continual improvement in
personal life and social life. It is not only for
continual improvement in the

office/industry, but also
for the home. The continual
improvement should also be
adopted at home to achieve
work- life balance. It is
a method for eliminating
waste, based on common
sense.

Kaizen principles:
1. Don’t postpone. Fix it, then and there. If there is a

problem, attend to that immediately, like one does in

the office.

2. Don’t look for excuses. Look for doing things positively

and proactively, not reactively.

3. Remove all false notions, discard fixed ideas and do

not make excuses. Go to the root of the problem just

like you do root cause analysis for any non-conformity

in office and do the corrective action so that it does

not become a potential non-conformity later on.

4. Do not try for a perfect solution.

Kaizen Methodology:
Kaizen is a tool to improve life using P.D.C.A cycle

(Plan-Do-Check-Act).

• Have a goal list for personal ambition

• Write it on a paper

• Attack first the items that have a significant impact

• Check on progress and make changes

• Verify the effect of changes and measure results

• Celebrate the success and pat yourself.

We talk of Quality Management System and safety

management industries (ISO 9001/18001) in industries.

We may faithfully implement them in organizations

where we work. But when it comes to our personal life,

we conveniently ignore it. This means that we had not

fully understood the true philosophy of life. There will be

improvement in quality of life and safety in home only

if the same rules of the standard are followed using the

PDCA cycle.

Do you understand my point, my friends?

A student in the school of life

All that I say here is borne out of my own experience

as a student in the school of life. I am neither a doctor

who had studied medicine, nor a spiritual person. I was

simply transformed by the changes wrought by time.

The Vedas declare - “Uttrureth atmane atmanah

bandhuh atmane atmanah ribhuh”.

“You have to better yourself. You are your own

friend as well as your enemy.”

Poet Kannadasan says, “You are your own judge;

Let man speak what he wants,

But you maintain a good state of mind. As, the key

to a successful life is with you.”

To quote the great scientist Albert Einstein “Mankind

has not yet properly understood the universe; Just like

how a child passes by a big library.

We are just entering that big library to know about

the Cosmos” “You are the reason for your joy or sorrow.”

(The Gita 13/20)

The joy of success lies only in your hand. There

are no other shortcuts. Here’s is the way. A friend once

asked me:

“What should be done to succeed?”

I replied, “Till you get your fi rst victory, you should

love everyone."

Friend: “After that, what should be done?” I replied,

“After that, others would love you.”
